Employment History
2006 to present – As a Consultant/Computer Systems Analyst at Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center in Seattle, Washington, worked with clients in gathering user requirements, wrote specifications, and created the required custom ccl reports, data extracts, clinical documents, and smart templates for FirstNet, Surginet, PowerChart, PowerChart Outreach, Pharmacy, Charge Services, and Ambulatory projects. Also customized a large number of Cerner’s standard reports to meet the reporting requirements of FirstNet project stakeholders.
2008 – As a Consultant/Computer Systems Analyst at Children’s Hospital of Orange County, California, worked on the ambulatory project programming smart templates and genviews for clinical notes and created a number of ccl report for HIM (Health Information Management)
2005 to 2006 – As a Consultant/Computer Systems Analyst, performed consulting work for Stanford University Medical Center, Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital, Palo Alto, California. Developed and tested custom CCL/Discern Explorer documents, reports, worklists, inquiries, notifications and labels; built validation queries for the Cerner Millenium suite of products.
2004 to 2005 – As Management Consultant for Superior Consultant Company Inc. (now ACS), worked as part of a developer team developing Cerner Millenium Discern Explorer (CCL) reports for Profile, Profit, and QI, and financial extracts to interface with financial systems, for client Central Connecticut Health Alliance.
1996 to 2004 – As Senior Programmer/Analyst for the Vancouver Island Health Authority’s (VIHA) Information Systems Department:
- Participated in the selection process of a new integrated clinical system to replace a large set of legacy systems serving a region with a population of over 706,000 people.
- For Cerner Millennium HNAM, performed key role in developing programs crucial for patient care, such as FirstNet Triage Assessment Document, Emergency Screener Document, Admission/Separation form, and a number of various Embosser ID Cards for Person Management. Programmed clinical, financial and statistical reports for FirstNet, RadNet, Pharmacy, Person Management, Scheduling, Blood Bank, Powerchart modules of Cerner Millennium. Programmed data extracts to be able to interface with external systems such as the Provincial Blood Bank Coordinator Data Extract to interface with the Ministry of Health.
- Improved performance of a number of custom and Cerner programs. Generated update scripts to correct data inaccuracies produced by front-end applications, i.e., Pharmacy script to update broken package type and broken order stop type (issue with the current level of PharmNet and Procure results). Assisted clients in the development of Discern Expert rules for Person Management.
